We are absolutely thrilled to host one of the most successful sports CEO’s in recent times, Paul Barber OBE, Chief Executive and Deputy Chairman, Brighton and Hove Albion FC.
In today's podcast, Paul opens up about his extraordinary journey—revisiting his childhood on a North London council estate, recounting the challenges of his parents' separation at the age of 13, and highlighting numerous examples of unwavering determination that propelled him to where he stands today. 🏡
Paul joined the board of Brighton and Hove Albion FC as Chief Executive in June 2012, and was appointed Deputy Chairman in November 2018. In May 2023, Brighton secured its highest-ever Premier League finishing position (6th) and qualified for European club competition for the first time! ⚽
In a career in professional football spanning close to 26 years, Paul has also held various senior positions at MLS club Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Tottenham Hotspur FC and The Football Association.
Paul was named CEO of the Year at the UK Football Industry Awards in 2023, becoming the first person to win the award twice having previously won it in 2013. In the same year, Paul was also honoured with an Order of the British Empire (OBE) and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Sussex.
